FAQ’s
Do I need therapy?
If you are asking yourself this question, then you are probably struggling with a concerning situation, behaviour or feeling which may have worsened. When we experience struggles in life, we may internalize the issue and supress it or seek advice from those around us. The feedback that we may receive often comes from a biased place – based on what that person’s opinion and beliefs are and what they went through and how they dealt with their issue – which probably does not fully relate to your situation. There is also an unjustifed stigma around seeking professional help to deal with problems. We do not live in a perfect world, therefore, we all go through periods of distress that is unique to us. The benefits of psychotherapy can be seen more like a stress-reliever – like exercising or eating right – just strategies to understand, resolve and release your unhealthy life situations that help to make life easier and more joyful.
