Psych Synergy

Psych-synergy or mental-emotional-spiritual balance addresses the whole person on every part of his or her being. These three parts of self may need attention individually while at the same time each is intimately connected with the other. Each part of self can contribute to the development of disease and imbalance.

The human mind is characterized by mental processes, thought and consciousness. The mind is responsible for our logic, intellect, rationalization and interpretation of our emotions. Our human emotion is rooted in our instinct and nature – it is a complex state of feelings that results in physical and psychological changes that serve to influence our thoughts and behaviour. The human mind and the human heart are distinctively different, separate but equal originators for our human behaviours.

So our mind and emotion are different but equally strong and parallel forces that influence and affect how we live, act and converse. We also tend to work through problems using our mind or “intellectualizing” and often neglect acknowledging and dealing with the resultant emotions. This causes a build-up of emotionality and a subsequent explosion via emotional breakdowns, outbursts and so forth. Therefore, our mental and emotional states both have influence on our thought processes and actions, and could be the very cause of severe inner conflict and turmoil that we often feel within ourselves.

Although our mind (logic, intellect, rationalization) and our heart (emotion, instinct, individual nature) influence us to feel, think and act in opposing ways, we can ultimately make better decisions by combining them to create mental-emotional synergy.

Spirit is that part of our selves which incarnates aspects of our soul and serves as our continuous connection with our higher self and the Source or Divine energy. Spirit brings with it life purposes and lessons, which are expressed and learned through all of the levels of our being towards the end of spiritual enlightenment.

Spirit is experienced by many through our religious practices. Each religion offers deep wisdom through its own insights. Spirituality though, sees the common truth and thread in all religions and is a one-on-one relationship with the Source. Spirit supports life and participates in each and every aspect of our lives – individually and collectively. Spirit may contribute to health and to illness, always with lessons for our self and the collective consciousness. Therefore, within Psych-Synergy, the spiritual aspect is used as the foundation on which the balance of the mental and emotional is fostered.

We are essentially spiritual beings having a human experience. It is thus imperative to work holistically with all aspects of our being for healing, empowerment and liberation to take place.

Our spiritual understanding and relationship with the divine is used as a foundation (even if you feel that this is shaky or non-existent). We then are able to understand and make the connections on the mind level regarding present issues/triggers and possible connections to our earlier life experiences in order to resolve and find forward solutions. The emotions attached to our negative life experiences are also acknowledged and released through tangible exercises and techniques.

Developing Mental-Emotional-Spiritual Synergy (Psych-Synergy)

The ideal goal is to develop a mental-emotional synergy with a spiritual awareness within us. When our minds and our hearts begin to work together — off one another rather than against one another — we can make stronger, sounder decisions that will improve the quality of our lives, every day. Simply with this realization and by choosing to assess the influence of our minds and hearts on our behaviours and attitudes, we begin to discover and nurture symmetry, balance and harmony amid two seemingly conflicting opposites. When our mental and emotional beings work together, and springboard off a higher spiritual awareness, we deny inner conflict, create mental-emotional synergy and foster inner peace. Without a doubt, Psych-Synergy will help with more effective decision-making that will ultimately improve the quality of our lives.
